Cairns Botanic Gardens Masterplan Review

The Cairns Botanic Gardens is one of Australia’s premier Botanic Gardens and showcases a wide variety of native tropical and exotic plant species. In consultation with the community, Council has undertaken a review of the Cairns Botanic Gardens Masterplan 2005.

Key outcomes of the review have recommended a range of improvements that will create new and exciting experiences for the public, improve connectivity and access, improve Council operations and ensure that the site continues to evolve and adapt to a changing climate, as well as remaining a key destination for the region. Council invites the public to view the plans and provide any feedback they have.

Maybe grow more bamboos in that area in a certain arrangement and have a path running through it in a circuit so to be enshrouded by them.

As a visitor from Melbourne I’m shocked you would even consider not having a cafe in the Botanic Gardens. Very wrong and shortsighted!!🤬

The idea of the Japanese Friendship Garden is great. I think it would be popular with visitors to Cairns as well as the local community.

Ambience/shelter at Kimmy's was the first thing that attracted me to the gardens. Chinese friendship garden was looking unloved last visit.
