Walking is one of the easiest ways to get around, stay active and enjoy our neighbourhood.
This Walking Network Plan (WNP) aims to make walking a safe, comfortable and appealing choice for everyone by improving the routes that connect our local destinations. That is schools, shops, parks, bus stops, community spaces and much-loved trails.
To design a walking network that reflects how our community moves, we need to hear from you by completing the online survey and interactive map below.
Tell us:
- How often you walk and where you go.
- What makes walking enjoyable or challenging.
- Where footpaths, crossings, shade or signage could be improved.
- Which routes feel safe and which ones you avoid.
- What factors affect your experience.
- Your thoughts on the draft walking routes shown in the plan.
There are three ways to provide feedback:
- Complete the survey to tell us about your walking habits, experiences and priorities.
- Use the interactive map social pinpoint map to drop pins and share location specific comments within the Walking Network Plan Area.
- Email us your thoughts and feedback at: CommunityProjects@cairns.qld.gov.au
Responses may be analysed in combination to help prioritise future walking improvements.
